Educational Assistant - Inscape House School

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their learning journey? We are seeking to recruit Educational Assistants within Inscape House School which is a specialist day school for autistic children and young people aged 5 to 19 years.

You will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and helping our young people to conquer barriers and surpass expectations in an inclusive environment.

Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults is a priority for all employees

Key responsibilities include but are not exhaustive

  • Maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Responsible for promoting safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
  • Support the classroom teacher in preparing resources and manging classroom the environment
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans and learning materials to meet the needs of our young people
  • Administrative task such as record keeping and organising learning activities 
  • Other duties as required by the Trust or by the line manager and other senior leaders 
About you

  • Genuine passion for working with children and supporting young people
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and work as part of a team 
  • Positive, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children with special needs 
  • Good ICT skills
  • Flexibility approach in dealing with changing circumstances 
  • Relevant qualification or training is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of autism and neurodiversity
