We have a rewarding opportunity to for four Positive Behaviour Support Workers (PBS) to join our new and expanding service supporting children, young people with autism and learning disabilities. This role would be supporting families across Manchester.
Working therapeutically within a person-centred PBS model the role will focus on enabling young people to access education, community activities and enabling families to have a better quality of life.
The service is based in Wythenshawe, Manchester however you will work across Manchester supporting several families.
Starting salary is £24,700 per annum (£12.67ph) based on working 37.5 hours per week.
Weekend shifts paid at 25% extra per hour
As a specialist service there is a comprehensive package of training and support either internally within the Trust’s Learning & Development Team or externally with our professional partners (which include social services and CAHMS).
The role includes:
- Travelling throughout the Manchester local authority area, you will visit a variety of settings that meets the young person’s needs.
- Provide a caring, safe, secure and accepting environment that meets the physical, health, social needs and rights of the young people.
- Assist with the assessments of need and formulation of plans which includes working in partnership with other agencies.
- Maximise educational opportunities and achievements for the young people looked after within the unit by assisting in identifying, establishing, and supporting educational provision and contributing to educational reviews.
- Undertake individual work that is designed to meet the young person’s needs as identified within the care plan, enabling them to reach full their potential.
- Under close supervision take responsibility for key working a case load of families.
What can you bring to the service
We are looking for Positive Behaviour Support workers with strong values and an enthusiastic approach, to support young people and their families.
Do you have the skill set to support young people with a diagnosis of autism, supporting them within the community and achieving positive outcomes. Do you have the skills to support families with Positive Behaviour Support strategies within their family environment.
Are you able to work independently or as part of a team, maintaining and encouraging open and honest lines of communication? Can you undertake the full range of tasks, in a well-planned way that respects and values children and their families?
